Temporary Sugar Shortage Dismays Housewives

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA). —Those Wellington housewives who took advantage of cheaper prices ruling for some varieties of fruit today by purchasing for jam-making were dismayed in many cases to hear grocers say, “No sugar,” when they sought supplies to make jam.

A number of shops were entirely without sugar today. This temporary shortage was due to the shipping position and was expected to be relieved on Monday, said one grocer.
