MEDIATOR’S SEVEN POINTS FOR FUTURE ACTION IN PALESTINE

PARIS, Nov 26 (Recd 6 pm).- The United Nations Mediator in Palestine (Dr Bunche), speaking in the United Nation’s major political committee which is discussing the Palestine problem, advised the Assembly to base future actions on the following seven points:— (1) Affirmation of the existence of the State of Israel and her title to United Nations membership. (2) To call to the parties to resolve their differences by direct negotiations through United Nations intermediaries. (3) A Conciliation Commission to assist in this.

(4) Clear guidance to thb Commission.

(5) The strongest possible international guarantee for boundaries which would be subject to modification only by mutual consent.

(6) Affirmation of the right of Araffi refugees to return to their homes, or be compensated.

(7) Determination of the future Jerusalem area with special interna' tional status under United Nations supervision, with local’ autonomy for Jewish and Arab communities of the city.
