Are Communist Films Being Smuggled Into New Zealand?

(P.A.) Parliament Bldgs., June 29. “Will the Minister of External Affairs take the necessary precautions to see that Communist propaganda films are not smuggled into New Zealand in diplomatic bags to escape censorship?” asked Mr. A. S. Sutherland (Opp., Hauraki) of the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser), in the House of Representatives today. Mr. Sutherland added, in a note to his question, that J. L. Creman, a Labour member of the General Assembly of Canberra .had stated in the press that he had it on the best authority that indoctrination films were being imported into Australia by the Soviet Legation and distributed through Communist front organisations.
