Mr. S. M. Hobbs was re-elected nrcsident of the Wellington branch ol the New Zealand Crippled Children Society at the annual meeting ol the branch on Monday nightMr. R. C. Abernethy, Stipendiary Magistrate at Invercargill for the past 10 years, has been transferred to Christchurch. Mr. W. A- Harlow. S.M who has been relieving at Wellington. has been transferred to InVe Mi\ l K. ll W. Thorstensen, of Wellington, has been appointed first official delegate to represent the J-Force at the annual conference of the Ind N.Z.E.F. Association at Wellington next month. Mr. Thorstensen served in Japan with the New Zealand Brigade Band. —(P.A.) Two appointments to service liaison staffs in London and Melbourne have been announced by army headquarters. Lieuteant R. D. P. Hassett is to be secretary to the New Zealand .joint service liaison staff in London and Captain R. M. Martin is to assume duties as assistant New Zealand liaison officer in Melbourne. Both officers are expected to leave New Zealand next month. Colonel L. W. Andrew, V C., D. 5.0.. commandant of the Central Military District, who returned recently Irom the Imperial Defence College in England, will arrive in Wanganui today and will address the Wanganui Officers' Club tonight. An old boy of the Wanganui Collegiate School, he is the son of a former headmaster of Wanganui Eaat School. Colonel Andrew won his Victoria Cross while a corporal in World War 1.
