(P.A.) Wellington. June 2*, At a meeting of the Hides Committee. alterations were made to several export levy rates that had been effective as from March 8, 1948. The levy on all freezer abatttoir and country butcher standard ox and 401 b. and over cow hides has been reduced by one penny per pound. For under 401 b. cow hides of the same grades the levy «s reduced by 2d per lb. All yearlings are reduced from 21d to 18d. Calfskins (other than freezers) are ieduced from 30d to 20d and bull hides are unaltered at 6Jd per lb. The levy on farmers* standard ox and cow hides remains at 6d per lb.
