NOT INTENDED FOR THE PUBLIC

(PA) Auckland, June 26On behalf of lhe executive of the New Zealand Educational Institute, the Dominion secretary. Mr. G. K. Ashbridge, made a statement this afternoon referring to the BlackwoodMoore incident. He said it should lie understood that the report was originally circulated privately to institute branches, to a few selected social workers, and to educationists and was not intended for publication, nor was it published by the institute. Unfortunately extracts appeared after parts had been Quoted hv a speaker at a Rotary luncheon. The Dominion execu cutivc had never adopted the report and Mr. Asnbridge therefore was surprised that someone outside the insti'ute ffiould make publication use of it. It was incorrect to say that the report was suppressed by any official action, and certainly there was no demand by the Prime Minister for an apology or retraction.
