WANGANUI WOMEN’S BOWLING TOURNEY CONTINUED
Good progress was made in the Wanganui Women’s Bowling Centre’s tournament yesterday on the Wanganui R.S.A. green when play in the fours was continued. So far Mrs Pluck’s (Wanganui) team is leading, with six wins, Mrs Dennison (Wanganui) five, Mrs Thomas (New Plymouth) five, Mrs Burkett (New Plymofth) five. Today pairs will be played, section A on the Gonville green, section B on the Wanganui green, Nelson Street. The final will be played at the Wanganui East green on Friday. Results are as follow: Third round: Dennison 18, Penfold 7; Vernon 21, Foley 7; Robinson 26, Holloway 12; Thomas 16, Walker 13; Pluck 23, Farr 13; Burkett 28, Davis 5. Verry a bye. Fourth round: Davis 21, Vernon 9; Holloway 17, Foley 14; Verry 24, Burkett 6; Pluck 28, Robinson 12; Farr 20, Thomas 17; Walker 17, Dennison 11. Penfold a bye. Fifth round: Pluck 16, Foley 12; Birkett 18, Penfold 16; Holloway 21, Davis 12; Dennison 18, Farr' 13; Thomas 19, Robinson 17. Walker a bye. Sixth round: Dennison 32, Davis 6; Pluck 19, Penfold 14; Holloway 24. Walker 8; Thomas 15, Verry 12; Farr 20, Vernon 16.
