'Recd. 11 p.m. Sydney, Feb. 25 Tlie Bunnerong powerhouse, which supplies the bulk of the electricity for lighting and cooking in Sydney, has only 24 hours’ vuppfy of coal in hand, and has never been in a worse position, according to the chairman of the County Council (Mr. F. G. Pursell). The council has decided to wire Mr. Chifley and the Minister of Supply (Mr. Ashley) for more and better quality coal. Mounting coal losses, apart from the threat of a general stoppage, are creating a crisis. In thirty-five working days this year strike losses totalled 262,000 tons.
