TECHNICAL OLD BOYS v MARIST
When the first day s play had ended T. 0.8. had compiled a total score of 176 runs, and Marist in their first innings were six wickets down for 83 runs. At the continuation of the game on Victoria Park, Saturday last, Technical Oid Boys gained an outright win over their opponents who were faced with a well-night impossible task.
In the first innings, Marist were all out for 111, and T. 0.8. replied to this in their second innings with a total of five wickets down (declared) for 124. Batting in the second innings, Marist made 29 (playing two men short) and T. 0.8. won the day with an outright win. Blick (T. 0.8. and Barrett (T. 0.8. were top-scorers, their scores being 40 out, and 45 not out respectively. Thomas performed the hat trick. Keats was caught and bowled, off the last ball of one over, and .O’Sullivan and Williams were bowled off two successive balls in his next over. He sent down two more, and with his next ball he took E. Neale's wicket—four wickets to his credit off six balls. The wicket had its ups and downs, and the ball shot and bounced at random. Barrett and Blick batted extremely well, and Salmon (Marist) hit a glorious six in an excellent Innings, of 13. The details of play are:— Marist. First Innings.
