RUSSIA BELIEVED TO BE SEEKING MALAYAN RUBBER

Singapore, Jan. 17. Rubber traders are attaching special significance to a visit from a Russian trade representative, P. I. Sizov, whose headquarters are at Nanking. Sizov announced that the purpose of his visit was simply to study Malayan markets in general and the possibilities of trade between Malaya and Russia. He disclaimed a suggestion that his mission was almost entirely connected with rubber, but the trade knows that Russia has recently been buying Malayan rubber indirectly and it is believed that substantial direct orders may follow the visit.
