RETURNING TO ENGLAND

WIFE OF NEW APPOINTEE TO LONDON CHAIR OF AGRICULTURE Returning to England in a few months, after ten years in New Zealand, during which she has lived in Wellington and Palmerston North, is Mrs. M. M. Cooper. With her husband, who has been appointed to the newly established Chair of Agriculture of the University of London, she will leave New Zealand for Wye College, Kent. She was born at Boars Hill, Oxford,. England, and met her future husband when the latter, a New Zealand Rhodes Scholar, was captain of the Oxford University Rugby team. Her eldest sister also married an Oxford Rugby captain and Scottish international player. Mrs. Cooper’s uncle, Mr. Basil Mathews, is Professor of Theology at Boston University. Her grandfather was one of the first residents of Boars Hill, which is notable for the many famous personalities, including Robert Bridges, John Masefield, and the Huxley family, who have made their homes there.
