WANGANUI EAST AND MARTON BOWLERS’ “BONE OF CONTENTION"

TROPHY WON BY THE CITY CLUB THIS WEEK The first game of the season between the Wanganui East and Marton bowling clubs for the “Bone of Contention” was played on the former's green on Sunday. Thirty-two players made lhe trip from Marton and were received by the Wanganui East president, Mr. R. Bell. The morning games resulted as follows: Wanganui East being mentioned first. In returning thanks when handing over the “Bone,” the Marton president, Mr. Brabyn, payed a tribute to the hospitality of Wanganui East in providing luncheon in the various homes and to other acts of friendship which will do much to strengthen the strong ties already existing between the two clubs.
