J. LAIDLAW WINS MILE CYCLE RACE

FASTEST TIME TO K. STEVENS A first season rider, J. Laidlaw, led the field home on Sunday at the conclusion of a 21 miles, cycle road race conducted by the Wanganui club. D. Cheat ley was very unlucky when he crashed at the Okoia turn while riding strongly with the leading bunch. The detailed results of the race are as follows: - J. Laidlaw (smin. 30sec.) 1 U. Bcswarick (6.30) 2 G. Harrison (6.30) 3 Fastest time was recorded by K. Stevens who. off the scratch mark, covered the distance i.i 54min. 16 1-5 sec. W. Pidwell (54.46) and T. Philpot (55.39) were second and third respectively. Junior Race A junior race over a four-mile course resulted in a win for R. Payne with T. Philpot and J. Adams in the lesser places.
