TRIAL GAMES TO AID SELECTION Sydney, July 19, A special programme arranged to help the selectors pick the Australian Rugby Union team for New Zealand has been enlarged. Seeking the best players the union has made arrangements for the selectors, Messrs. H. Masters and A. C. Wallace, to see country players at Canberra and Armidale next week. A series of games, which will precede the selection on August 3, are as follows: July 27, New South Wales v. Queensland, and the New South Wales second team v. the Combined States, both at the Sydney Cricket Ground; July 31, Queensland v. Southern States; August 3, Australia v. The Rest and New South Wales v. Southern States. Twenty-five players will be selects.
