I At the beginning of the second half Taranaki again took play to the Wanganui end of the field. But then the Wanganui forwards got possession and J. Play went the other way, and when Wilmshurst got possession he passed to Nair, who in his turn passed to Fowles, who put a beautiful shot into the net. Ramsdale made three fine saves when Wanganui men made shots from corners. Wanganui kept the play near the Taranaki goal line for some time until Steele kicked clear. Wanganui were quickly back, and S. Nimmo, centre-half, put a long shot oast Ramsdale. I When Elliott centred. Simpson I missed a shot at goal.
