THIS WEEK’S ACTIVITIES Keen interest is being taken in the Wanganui Association's ladder and in-te.-club competitions. In the latter, all matches in the third lyund have been completed. In the A grade, Wanganui No. 1 is still unbeaten, whilst in the B grade Durie Hill Nos. 1 and 2, Y.M.C.A. No. 1, and 2nd N.Z.E.F. No. 1 have all won three matches each. In the C grade Wanganui, St. Many’s and Durie Hill are still unbeaten. The fourth round is to be completed by July 23. The men's A grade ladder remains the same, except that J. Broad has moved up to sixth position by defeating H. Andrews 14-21, 21-19, 21-11, and J. Wate.s moved up to si:; h position by defeating B. Crutchl 21-15, 21-12. K. Corinor and R. \.. Owen both retained their positions by defeating O. Welsh and K. Hunt respectively in two straight games. R. E. Thomas has withdrawn from the ladder. J. Foster withstood a challenge from G. Elliott by winning two straight games. The ladder now stands as follows: 1, R. Stewart .Wanganui): 2. K. V. Connor (Wanganui); 3. O. Welsh (2nd N.Z.E.F.); 4. R. W. Owen (Wanganui); 5, K. Hunt (2nd N.Z.E.F.); 6, J. Broad (Wanganui); 7. H. Andrews (Wanganui); 8, E. Ogier (Wanganui); 9. J. Waters (Wanganui); 10, B. Crutchley (Wanganui): 11. J. Foster (Wanganui); 12, G. Elliott (Wanganui). Matches to be completed by July 23 are: Stewart v Connor, Welsh v Owen, Hunt v. Broad. Andrews V Ogier. Waters v. Crutchley. Foster v. Elliott. B Grade Ladderni. The B grade ladder matches resulted in E. Urlich (Wanganui) gaining top place from K. Thomas (2nd N.Z.E.F.) in three hard-fought games. E. Churcher (2nd N.Z.E.F. > went to third place by defeating K. Williams (2nd N.Z.E.F.) in two straight games. K. Mahoney (Wanganui) successfully defended his posi.on from R. Cooke after three games. J. Souter (Wanganui) gained seventh place from E. Crutchiev (Wanganui) in two close games. The B grade ladder has been increased to ten by the addition of R. Bell (Church of Christ) and R. Crawford (Wanganui). The ladder positions are:- 1, E. Urlich (Wanganui); 2 K. Thomas (2nd N.Z.E.F.); 3. K. Churcher (2nd N.Z.E.F.); 4, K. Williams (2nd N.Z. EF)' 5 K. Mahonev (Wangaui); 6, B. Cooke (2nd N.Z.E.F.); 7. J. Souter (Wanganui); 8, E. Crutchley (Wanganui); 9, R. Bell (Church or Christ); 10. R. Crawford (Wanganui). The matches to be completed by Julv 23 are as follows: R. Thomas <AT.C.) v. Crutchley, Souter v Cooke. Mahoney v. Williams, Churcher v. K. Thomas, Urlich a bye. The Association is holding a onenight handicap tournament on Wednext at 7.15 n.rm shorn.
