MEAT RATIONING IN AUSTRALIA TO BE CONTINUED

Recd. 8 p.m. Sydney, July 19. A denial that the Government intended the removal of meat rationing this year was made by the Minister of Trade and Customs, Senator Fraser. He stated that rationing must be maintained to meet the Commonwealth Government’s commitments to Britain. Retail butchers claim that meat rationing had outlived its usefulness, and that large quantities of meat were in storage that were not up to the standard for English export, and could not be consumed here because of the rationing restrictions.
