ROCKERIES IN PARSONS ST.

A.A. FAVOURS THEIR REMOVAL There is some divergence of opinion regarding the desirability or otherwise of ornamental rockeries which were constructed in Parsons Street, where it is met by Grey and Fergusson Streets and Francis Road. The Waitotara County Council built the rockeries some years ago and planted them with cacti and other rock plants. Since then the rockeries have become somewhat neglected and their presence is regarded by some motorists as unnecessary if not an impediment. The Automobile Association (Wanganui) is in favour of their removal and the widening of the road at this point to give motorists a wider margin of safety. Some finality may be reached after a meeting of the association, the City Council and the county authorities which is to be held soon.
