ARBOR DAY SET DOWN FOR AUGUST 7 (P.A.) Wellington, July IS. Arbor Day this year will be observed on Wednesday, August 7. A notice appearing in to-night’s Gazette states that in view of the national importance of tree planting, local bodies throughout New Zealand are requested to organise suitable celebrations on that date, but if local riimatic conditions are unsuitable they are invited to observe some other .suitable day in August.
