COASTAL SHIPPING DISPUTE

ISSUE YET UNSOLVED BUT CREWS DECIDE TO WORK (P.A.) Wellington, July 16. Crew representatives in coastal vessels affected by the heat and light dispute in Wellington to-day met Seamen’s Union national council members, including the president, Mr. F. P. Walsh, and decided to take the ships to sea, leaving the further prosecution of the dispute in the hands of the national council. The seamen added a rider to their resolution to resume work, calling on crews at Westport, Auckland, and other centres affected to work the ships until the decision of the national council meeting to-morrow is made known.
