VICTORY LOAN CAMPAIGN

ARRANGEMENTS AT PATEA Preliminary arrangements in connection with the Victory Loan campaign were discussed at a wellattended meeting in Patea recently. Representatives from Patea organisations and local bodies, as well as women’s organisations, were present. The Mayor, Mr. F. Ramsbqttom, presided hud had with him Messrs. W. S. N. Rennie, chairman of the Wanganui War Loan Committee, and Mr. J. Gillick. Wanganui district organiser for the Victory Loan campaign. Mr. Gillick outlined the method of conducting the campaign in an address in which he stated that fatea had the most successful business strret group of National Savings in the Wanganui postal district. The Patea postmaster, Mr. S. W. Hills, said the loan already had a fair start in the district and that Patea had exceeded its annual quota of National Savings, which would form a nucleus for the Victory Loan.
