Latest reports say that substantial gains have been made by the Allied armies in Italy, where the Germans have thrown in every available man in defence of the vital Highway Six. Troops are less than a mile from Valmontone. which is the key to this vital highway. Other forces have madf advances in the Velletri region, where the enemy is holding strong positions based on the Alban Hills. Both forces are about 20 miles from Rome.
