CITY TO HAVE LIQI OR IN SUBURBS <LAJ Invercargill, May 28. Mr. Abraham Wachner was elected Mavor of Invercargill, defeating Mr. A. W. Jones by 7321 votes to 2270. A referendum was held on the pronosal of the Invercargill Licensing Trust to establish liquor premftes in lhe suburbs, electors favouring the proposal by 5244 votes to 4212. Ai Gore, the sitting Mayor. Mr. W. D Sh?lton. was defeated bv Mr. A. T. Neuman, bv 1908 votes to 900.
