Jamieson, who recently returned, from service in the Middle East as a chaplain, has been appointed to succeed the Rev. F. Gardner Brown as nninister at the Dominion Road Methodist Church, Auckland.

The Hon. D. Wilson, who recently left New Zealand to become Hign Commissioner ilor New Zealand in Ottawa, has reaigned from the Executive Council and from the office of Minister of Immigration. The Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland, Bishop of Wel/lington, will arrive at Wanganui this afternoon to take part in various weejk rend services associated with the Cmifist Church centenary. During his stay he will be the guest of Mr. F. W. Gilligan, headmaster of the Collegiate School, and Mrs. Gilligam. ;

Mr. R. A. Ca ndy, Ngarua, has been appointed chain iman ot the Board of Governors of Massey College. Mr. Candy, who wag born in Wanganui in 1903, is a director of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, chairman of di!ilectors of the Auckland Herd Improvement Association, chairman of the Ws.ikato Primary Production Council, aud a member of the National Primary Production Council. He has been a member of the Massey College board since 1936. Mr. J. Coutts, retiring honorary secretary and treasurer oi the Waverley R.S.A., who has been transferred to Papakura as postmaster, was farewelled by members of the R.S.A. at Waverley recently, when tribute was paid to his ability and popularity. As a mark ot apjfreciation he was presented with a -silver fruit dish. Mr. Coutts suitably replied and thanked the speakers ;ibr their expressions oi goodwill.
