SERVICE ENDS AFTER 59 YEARS
The directors and factory staff of Messrs. Hallenstein Bros. Ltd., Dunedin, have farewelled Mr. A. Mclndoe,' who has been in charge of the examination and despatch section of the factory and is retiring after 59 years’ service. k Mr. F. M. Halsteu, on behalf of the directors, congratulated Mr. Mclndoe on what must be an almost singular record of service with one company in New Zealand, and referred to his activities in connection with the social and personal welfare of the staff. For many years Mr. Mclndoe had been a trustee of the Factory Benefit Society, in which he was deeply interested. Presenting him with a cheque, Mr. Halsted wished him many years ol happy retirement. Mr. J. M. Munro, factory maanger. expressed the regret felt by all at the severance of such a long connection.l and presented Mr. Mclndoe with an I eiderdown quilt as a token of the, esteem of the factory staff. j Replying, Mr. Mclndoe gave some remini** mces of his early days in thei Dunedin factory, and mentioned that; the grandmothers of some of those present had worked with him.
