OLD HOUSE DESTROYED
An old dwelling at Putiki was totally destroyed by fire early on Saturday evening. The building, which was of wood, had been empty for a long period, and was owned by Mr. A. M. Takarangi. The Central Fire Station received a call at 6.5 p.m., but as the dwelling was outside the citv boundary the machine returned to Central Station. The house, which contained five rooms, was built many years ago and was not insured.
