MARRIED IN BRITAIN
AUCKLAND NAVAL OFFICER (Special Correspondent—N.Z.P.A.) London, Sept. 23. An all-Auckland naval wedding took place yesterday at Same, in Oxfordshire, when Lieutenast Stanley Jervis, Auckland, married Miss Betty Coote, also of Auckland. The best man was Lieutenant G. P. Thodes, Auckland, and other Auckland representatives present were Lieutenants Felix Tattersfleld, A. Robb and J. G. Watson, all members of the Royal New Zealand Volunteer Reserve” and also all members of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. Jervis was one of the first members of the R.N.Z.N.V.R. to go to Singapore. From there he went to Greece, where he helped with the evacuation of New Zealanders. that he went through the German lines and escaped to “the other side of the island. From there he was sent
to Alexandria, where he spent a time in hospital. He was then posted to a battleship serving in the Mediterranean and has been there till recently. Watson has just returned from Iceland; Thode recently returned from Alexandria; Tattersfield is commanding a motor torpedo-boat; and Robb is attached to the Admiralty.
