ITALY’S ATTITUDE TO COLLABORATION

London, Sept. 22. Italy’s attitude toward collaboration between France and Germany is summed up by the newspaper controlled by Ciano. Italian Foreign Minister. The editor describes Laval’s policy as only a manoeuvre to obtain a free hand toward Italy. It states significantly tha< even those Frenchmen who are now resigned to the German domination of Europe are opposed to Italy’s precedence over France, which is a logical result of the course the war has taken. The newspaper also complains bitterly that the Vichy Government has failed to do anything about the French hatred of Italy. It says the reason is that this hatred is shared by the most responsible members of Laval’s Cabinet.
