MARIST CRICKET CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD Presided over by Mr. H. Cuming, the annual meeting of the Marist Cricket Club was held last night. The annual report stated that, despite a shortage of players because of the war, the club had enjoyed a successful season. Though the club failed to achieve success in championship honours, all matches had been well contested. Trophies for the past season were awarded as follows: —Muzio Cup, E. Puddle; McEntee Cup, B. Greener; Moran Cup, N. Wallace; Koorey Cup, J. Galvin; Spooner trophy, L. Head; Ingram trophy, P. Lambert; Green trophy, S. Wallace. Among the club members in the armed forces are:—B. J. Dow, C. Carmody, 3. Greener, A. J. Darby, B. Ingram, A. Crafar, F. P. Koorey, V. Cronin, R. Silk, J. F. Toohey, A. Humphries, L. Guise. J. Doyle, S. Wallace. B. Turnbull, D. Tuffin, D. Inglis, C. Dow, M. Gilbert. G. Zohs, E. Madden (R.N.Z.A.F.), H. Smith (R.N.Z.A.F.), and A. Souter (R.N.Z.A.F.). The report congratulated the championship winners of the different grades and thanked supporters for their interest in the club. Regret was expressed at the death of Mr. Fred White, a supporter of the club for many years. The balancesheet disclosed a sound financial position. Election of Officers. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron. Rev. Father Outtrim; president, Mr. E. Manley; vicepresidents, members of the Marist Fathers and Marist Brothers in Wanganui, Messrs. G. Spooner, J. Muzio, T. Moran, H. Koorey, G. Hawkins, Mesdames T. Ryan and W. Sundborn; committee, Rev. Brother Harold, Messrs. L. Koorey, J. Hodson, E. Anderson, P. Lambert, and L. Head; chairman of committee, H. Cuming; club captain, D. Cresswell; honorary treasurer, J. Galvin; delegates to Wanganui Cricket Association annual meeting, Messrs. H. Cuming and C. Gaylard; delegate to Wanganui Cricket Association executive. C. Gaylard; selection committee. Messrs Cuming and Koorey; honorary auditor, R. Benefield; honorary secretary, C. Gaylard. It was decided that subscriptions be the same as last year, seniors £2 2s and juniors £1 Is.
