BOMBERS HIT FRANCE

INDUSTRIAL TARGETS ATTACKED Rugby, Sept. 22. The Air Ministry states; “Bombers attacked industrial objectives in the Lille and Lens area this morning. The power station at Mazingarbe and the port of Veudin were among the targets hit. “Other bombers attacked the iron and steel works at Ijmuiden. Hits were seen on the target and tires were started. Two bombers are missing, and one fighter is missing from an offensive patrol to-day.” There has been slight enemy activity over the south-east coast of England to-day, it is officially stated. Bombs were dropped at one place, causing some damage and a small number of casualties.—8.0 W.
