UNITY AND ENDURANCE

CHIEF DEMANDS OF WAR London, Sept. 21. A grim warning to the people of the United States was given to-day by the United States war production chief. Mr. Donald Nelson, speaking in Kansas City, that the United States faces a long and horrible war in which the chief demand will be for unity and endurance. Mr. Nelson said that Americans must have a “deep and unrelenting hatred of everything our enemies stand for and a clear and steadfast vision of the eternal values we are fighting for. Approximately 40 per cent, of United States production was now devoted to war, said Mr. Nelson, and this would reach about 60 per cent, by the middle of 1943.
