AXNT AL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Makiri- ‘ kiri branch of the W.D.F.U. was held ' in the Trinity Buildings on Wednes- | day. April 15. ' Mrs. Robertson presided over a fair I attendance. I All present stood in silence as a ;l mark of sympathy with relatives of I the late Miss Woon and Mrs Oldaker. ’ 1 Business was dealt with and the ’I minutes and balance-sheet were read JI and confirmed. The balance sheet for the year snowed a credit balance , J of £l7 2s 5d for the sending of parcels *| to local boys £2l 14s 10a was col- , lected this included two donations sent to the City Council. Wool was also bought and the , members knitted it up into socks, mittens and balaclavas, which were j put into the parcels. J The election of officers resulted as i follows:—President. Mrs. Robertson [ (re-elected); vice-president. Miss ! Crowley; secretary and treasurer. Miss Shield (re-elected). The next meeting will be held at > Mrs. Newsham s home. 22 Halswell » Street, on the last Wednesday of [ this month.
