IT HELPED CREATE THE WAR WENDELL WILLKIE’S VIEW. (Reed. 8.40 p.m.) New York, Sept. 18. Mr. Wendell Willkie, replying to Mr. Herbert Hoover, declared that American isolationism in the past decade was partly responsible for the war. “Continued efforts to keep the United States out of the councils of Europe, and attempts to prevent allout aid to Britain, will eventually rebound against America,” Mr. Willkie declared. He described Mr. Hoover’s policy as wholly unrealistic.—U.P.A.
