(Recd. 8.40 p.m.) New York, Sept. 18. The Herald-Tribune says that semiofficial figures from Ottawa show that Canada is spending 3,000,000,000 dollars on war purposes in the fiscal year 1941-42. This is half Canada’s national income and is double the United States effort on the basis of population.—U.P.A.
