WAVERLEY Mrs. C. Fitzgibbon is the guest of Mrs. W. Cunningham. Mrs. Langdon, Wairoa, is spending a few days with Mrs. E. Gulliver. Captain Fowler left on Wednesday for Waiouru Military Camp. Mrs. Christensen, Wanganui, who was the guest of Mrs. R. Bates, has returned home. Miss Alice McKenzie, Kai Iwi, is visiting Waverley as the guest of Mrs. Jack Chrighton. TAIHAPE Mr. C. Chalk, who vias admitted to the Taihape Public Hospital some time ago, is reported to be making good progress towards recovery. Miss G. Vickers, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. N. G. Vickers, Taihape. Sergeant J. Davies, area-sergeant at Stratford for the Mounted Rifles, was a recent visitor to Taihape. The resignation of Mr. J. H. Barber, sole teacher at Pukokahu, was accepted at the monthly meeting of the Wanganui Education Board this week. Miss Z. A. Davidson has been appointed to succeed Mr. Barbel temporarily.
