BACKS BETTER THAN OLD BOYS INTERESTING GAME ON RACECOURSE In a game that was full of intercs.’ Marist beat Wanganui and Old Boys: by 12 points to 6, on the Racecourse, I on Saturday. Neither side could claim much! advantage in the opening stages. Ex-I changes were fast, and the venue of; play changed every few minutes. The! Old' Boys rearguard were not handling with precision, and Marist took advantage of these lapses. When Marist backs settled down some fine back movements were seen, in which McCashin was outstanding. For Marist McCashin scored two tries, and Smith and Bruce one each, none of which was converted. Farley scored a try for Old Boys and Auld kicked a penalty.
