WAVERLEY. Miss Jean Boyne left on Monday for a holiday at Palmerston North. Miss E. Cleary, who was visiting New Plymouth, has now returned to Waveriey. Mrs. B. Thomas has returned from a holiday at Dannevirke). Mrs. C. Oliver, Kohi, is spending several days’ holiday in the Waikato district. Misses McClade, Taumaranui are the guests ot Mrs. H. Littlewood, Kohi. Mr. Laidlow, who has been visiting relatives in Waveriey, has now returned to Hamilton. Mrs. W. State is visiting Waveriey and is the guest of her mother, Mrs. W. H. Watkins. MARTON Miss Valerie Hunt and Miss Royce Mogridge, whose marriages take place shortly, were entertained by the Marton Red Cross Society after the weekly lecture on Monday night. They were presented with a cup, saucer and plate on behalf of the society by Miss Margaret Lound, who congratulated them both and wished them every happiness in their future life. Supper was served and the social gathering came to a close with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne.” Mr. Stan. Whitford, ot Dunsandel, Christchurch, is at present on a visit to Marton and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. Barry.
