“HANDS OFF DAKAR"
U.S. SEEKS EXPLANATION London, May 12. A report from Vichy states that Admiral W. D. Leahy, United States Ambassador to France, Ls understood to have requested an appointment with Marshal Petain in connection with the Paris Press campaign against America, and also with the warning to Washington to keep its hands off Dakar. Admiral Leahy is expected to ask Marshal Petain to clarify the Dakar warning, which was issued in Paris, but was not published in unoccupied France.— U.P.A.
