HOME GUARD
WANGANUI ACTIVITY WEEK-END MANOEUVRES Three Wanganui companies of the Home Guard, C, D, and E, will take part next week-end in an attack and defence scheme at the Westbourne golf links, Castlecliff. C and E Companies will take up defensive positions and D Company will be the attacking force. Mr. Neil Hood, instructor m army transport and machine-gunning, will instruct in transport organisation to Class HI men at to-night's parade at headquarters. Ridgway Street. There will be a course of instruction for signallers from the area in Palmerston North from May 17 to May 31. and five men from Wanganui will attend. In Palmerston North next Saturday a conference of area commanders and rd.jut.ants will be held and matters affecting training and equipment, will be discussed. A possible reorganising of lhe Home Guard will also be considered. Colonel R. St. J. Becre. D. 5.0.. Wellington District Commander, will preside at the conference, and the Dominion Staff Officer. General W. I. K. Jennings. D.S.O. will also attend.
