Hill, secretary of the Automobile Association has undertaken organisation on behalf of the Air Force Queen and his “Fighter and Bomber Commands" am already in hand. Mrs. E. M. Scott, Wanganui East, intends to call a meeting early next week to discuss organising for the City Nursing Services Queen. Mrs. Scott is a member of the Wanganui Hospital Board, president of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild. Government nominee on the Women's War Service Auxiliary and Government nonvnee on the 'Girls’ College Board of Governors. In her capacity on the Hospital Board. Lady Galway Guild and the War Service Auxiliary she is in touch with organisations which will doubtless aid the greatest patriotic effort. Wanganui has made since the war began. This afternoon "admirals and captains” from the south country districts will meet at the Patriotic office to bring "ships into line ahead ’ in support of the Navy Queen. To-night there is to be an “Army staff conference” at Maxwell, when plans will be shaped to sunnort the Army Queen. A point which cropped up in the discussion at headquarters of the carnival yesterday was whether the Fleet. Air Arm activities belonged to the Air Force or to the Navy Queen. It was ruled that the Fleet Air Arm is strictly a naval organisation and as such will support the South. An art union committee met yesterday and a long prize list, headed by £lOO worth of alluvial gold, and containing prizes ranging from suites of furniture to smaller articles of a popular kind, was put in hand. Tickets are to be priced at 3d each. Sales will be credited to the queens according to the numbers disposed of.
