Nominations, acceptances and other sources of revenue increased considerably and the financial result v/as very satisfactory. The Racing Conference had approved of the club holding its next meeting on Saturday, February 15, 1941, and as this date was a week later than the Egmont meeting it offered an inducement to owners and trainers to nominate for the two.

The financial statement presented by the secretary, Mr. P. S. Riley, showed an excess of Income over expenditure of £lBl7 14s lid. The income, which totalled £2831, was made up chiefly of totalisator £1778, gates £329, nominations and acceptances £209, privileges £2Ol, subscriptions £154, rents £129. Stakes accounted, for £llOO of the expenditure, salaries £233 and interest £2OB were the other chief items.

Officers elected were: President, Mr. Poole; secretary, Mr. Riley; treasurer, Mr. J. P. Burton; vice-president, Mr. Forsyth; committee and stewards, Messrs. E. G. Baylis, A. J. Clarke, E. Edwards, W. E. J. Hall, A. A. Masters, J. P. O’Sullivan, M. Reardon, P. Tito, J. Young. Fifty-four new members, submitted for approval, were all elected.

Satisfaction with the balance-sheet was expressed by Messrs. Reardon and Hammond, who thought the committee was to be congratulated upon the great increase in membership, which augured well for the interest taken in the affairs of the club by the public.
