BRITISH GARRISON * WITHDRAWALS. Received Aug. 12, 9.45 p.m. TOKIO, Aug. 12. The Foreign Office spokesman, Mr. Suma, said the Government at present was not planning further requests to belligerents to follow Britain’s garrison withdrawals. He said that Japan was assuming responsibility for the maintenance of peace and order in the occupied areas, and in view of this foreign forces were unnecessary.
