THE ADDINGTON SALE REDUCED YARDINGS AT EASTFR OFFERING SHEEP AND CATTLE PRICES SHOW DECLINE ( Per Preus Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, March 19. The Addington market was held today because of the Easter holidays There were reduced yardings. Store Sheep.—A heavy entry of breeding ewes, the best of which sold up to ewe fair rates, fine wool sorts being in somewhat better demand ’than at the recent Addington sales. Romney-cross ewes and all older sorts were down in price, bringing about the lowest values of the season. Vendors, however, met the market more freely. The best price was 34s for 94 Corriedale 2-tooth ewes, Rom-ney-cross selling up to 28s. Ordinary half-bred 2-tooths mode up to 21s, station 2-tooths, small and backward, Ils 6d to 13s 6d. Sheep. —A smaller entry of 5000 head showed a slight general easing in the values of good sheep, but a rather more pronounced easing for medium and inferior sorts. Exporters operated to a very small extent and values generally were under the schedule Good wethers made 25s to 295, with tops to 31s, station wethers 17s to 19s, good ewes 20s to 235, tops to 255, export ewes Ils 6d to 15s. Fat Cattle.—A small yarding of 335 head and a weaker sale all round, particularly for lighter sorts. Good steers made £l4 to £l7, tops to £l9, medium £l2 to £l3 10s. Best cows and heifers sold up to £ll ss, rough and unfinished cows £4 15s to £6. Pigs.—A small entry of porkers and a sharp rise in prices of about 4s a head. The average price per lb. was 7d to 73d. Baconers had a targe, entry, and a weaker market, Ute average price per lb. being 6*d to 7d.
