Mrs. Good, of Hawera, has been visiting Wanganui. Mrs. L. R. Hartley, Christchurch, is visiting Wanganui. Miss Dorothy Maclssacs, who has been visiting Mrs. Wallace Strachan, “Lornty,” Okoia, has returned to her home in Dunedin. Miss Sybil Carthy left Wanganui yesterday for Christchurch. Mrs. G. R. Cramond and family left Wanganui yesterday morning for Wellington on the first stages of their journey to Brisbane. Mr. Cramond, who has been promoted to the position of manager of the New Zealand Insurance Company, Queensland, will leave Wanganui next week. News has been received by Mrs. L. J. Webb Jones, Gonville Avenue, that her daughter, Signorina Marotto, accompanied by her husband, has arrived in Australia from Italy on their way to New Zealand. They are expected to arrive in the Dominion shortly and will spend some time in Wanganui with Mrs. Webb Jones. The death has occurred of Miss Kathleen Beckley, who for 22 years, had been a popular and efficient member of the staff of the High Commissioner's Office, states a London correspondent. She was attached as secretary to many delegations from the Dominion, including those to three Imperial Conferences. She was the holder of many awards for highspeed shorthand. Mr. C. A. Knowles represented the High Commissioner at the funeral service at St. Andrew’s Church, Little Kingsbury cemetery, and a wreath was sent by Mr. Jordan and the staff.
