TAIHAPE BOXING TOURNEY
SATURDAY'S PROGRAMME. (Own Correspondent.) TAIHAPE, July 19. An attractive programme, including three star bouts, has been arranged by the Taihape Boxing Asociation lor Saturday night. July 22, and indications point to the tourney being one of the most successful ever held in Taihape. The principal bout of the evening will be between B- Maddern (llawera) N.Z. fly-weight champion, and L. Mulholland (Petone) runner-up N.Z. flyweight championship. Another star bout will be a heavyweight contest between A. Thurston, of Taihape, and D. Mulleth, the Wellington heavyweight champion, and it will bo interesting to see how Thur ston shapes on his return to the ring. B. Muller (Taranaki) and S. Hitchcock (Wellington), will figure in tne third star bout of the evening. The programme includes an exhibition bout, between Billy Aitken, N.Z. featherweight champion, and Harold Footo, N.Z. bantam-weight champion. The Taihape boys arc training assiduously for the tournament and can be depended upon to give a good account of themselves. The first bout starts at 8.30 p.m. The Programme.
