WANGANLI TO COMPETE PROGRAMME DRAW N I P The Wanganui Highland Pipe Banc.! will compete at the New Zealand pipe I band championship contest at Wellington on January 26 and 27 next year. The Dominion Pipe Band Contest Committee has agreed to the following programme; Drum majors’ display: A grade, £lo, £5, £3. B Grade, £l2 10s, £5. £2 10s. £5O, £2O, £lO. £5; B Grade. £3O. £l5, £B, £5. 'Test selection: A Grade, £4O. £2l), £lO, £5; B Grade, £3O, £l5, £lO, £5. Aggregate. A grade. £10: B grade, £5. Drum majors’ stave flourishing contest: £3, £1 10s. Street march, £5, £2 10s (both grades). Special prizes will be allotted as follow..A grade: Championship Chalengc Shi vid for the highest aggregate i points for selection and quickstep music and the total military point.-: ■ Harry Lauder Shield, for highest ag- > gregate points lor music and drill m J the quickstep; John Begg Challenge i Cup, for highest points for music in j the selection; Hunter Drill Shield, fo; ; highest points in the quicl®ep and | selection; Goulding Challenge Cup, foi , most points for dress at. the inspec- j Lion of bands in the quickstep; Timaru Highland Pipe Band Challenge Cup, for highest points in drum majors display; George Lauchlan Memorial Cup. lor highest points for music io quickstep. B grade: Timaru Challenge Cup, for highest aggregate | points in Test selection and quickstep (music and total highest military ! points: Empire ChalUng l Cun, for highest points in drum major’s display; Mnnawatu Scottish Society’s Challenge Shield, for highest points in Test selection; Alasdair Macdonald Challenge Cup, for highest points in I quickstep.
