< APT AIN P. E. HARNF. WENT SOUTH WITH SCOTT. 4 Per Press Association.) TAURANGA. July 19. Captain Percival E. Harne, R.N.R. born at Bracestead Manor, Kent. England, second son of Heatie and Henry Harne, is dead. He trained for the sea, serving in the P. and O. Company and the Egyptian Government r.-.val service. He was associated v ith Captain R. F. Scott in the first Atitarc’i expedition, on which occasion he ? irrigating officer on the rei.ef ?h p When the Great War began a transferred to the British Navy and serve '. in various destroyers on special duty in the Nortn Sea and in the East. While in command of up monitor Sawfly on the River Tigris he was wounded during an ah.. . o.i an Arab village. In April, 1917, he was mentioned in dispa ch vs ar.d later appointed naval ’ra. -; <.t officer \t Basra and at E.’.-.n. Al’ t the war he returned to cable ind retired from the sea ; i ’931 n.l . t'.i'ed in Tauranga. He is survived by his wife.
