MARTON A young cycling enthusiast, Dan Bartlett, of Silverhope, cycled to Otonga, north of Whangarei, camping en route, to spend a holiday with his aunt, Mrs. W. Dempster. WAVERLEY Mrs. D. T. Thomson is visiting New Plymouth, where she is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Fowler. Miss Amy Graham is a visitor to Pahiatua. Miss Sheila Lovell, of Hawera, is the guest of Mrs. G. H. Alexander. Mrs. P. Tennant, formerly of Waverley and now of Auckland, is revisiting the district as the guest of Mrs. H. Boyer. Mrs. A. J. Alexander is the guest of her sister, Mrs. A. McWilliam, of Waipukurau. Mrs. Hobart Tennant, of Takapau, is the guest of Mrs. H. Boyer. TAIHAPE. . Mr. D. M. Mackay, of the Taihape staff of the Bank of New Zealand, left yesterday under transfer to Kawhia. Prior to his departure Mr. Mackay was the guest of honour at several valedictory gatherings and was the recipient of a silver cigarette case. The many friends of Mr. L. A. Needham, well known Taihape businessman, will regret to learn that he is seriously indisposed. Mr. H. Lawrence, of Auckland, has joined the Taihape railway staff in place of Mr. E. Hayes, who returned a short time ago. Mr. and Mrs. D. George are away on holiday. The Taihape railway locomotive staff presented Mr. P. Horne with a travelling bag and rug on the eve of the latter's departure from Taihape. The presentation was made by Mr. E. Box (acting road-foreman), Mr.. G. B. Munro, assistant locomotive-foreman also spoke. Mr. F. N. Munro has been appointed Ito the fitting staff of the Taihape railway locomotive department. Mr. H. D. Bond left by the express on Saturday night on a holiday visit to Auckland and Hamilton.
