AT MELBOURNE HOSPITAL TRIBUTE TO N.Z. JOCKEY. [ Per Press Association.l AUCKLAND, Oct. 12. In memory of the well-known New Zealand jockey Keith Voitre, who died as a result of a fall from his mount at the Moonee Valley meeting on September 10, racing owners of Melbourne have agreed to provide the cost of an additional ward at the Prince H_ny Hospital m that city This information was g ven by Voitre’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Voitre, of Palmerston North, who returned Irom Australia by toe Wanganella after attending their son’s funeral. Reconstruction work is proceeding at the Prince Henry Hospital and, according to Mr. Voitre, the hospital authorities and contractor have agreed to the addition. Following negotiations with the racing owners the ward will be known as the Keith Voitre Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Voitre said they regarded the plan as a wonderful tribute to their son. Keith Voitre died several hours after falling from Frill Prince in the Budgeree Handicap at Moonee Valley. Many thousands of people attended the funeral, which took place iq Melbourne on September 20.
