One workman is d<sd and 20 have been injured, it is believed, as the result of poison Tog from the blast furnaces and smelting works near Charleroi. The thick fog hanging over the district is believed to have prevented the escape of noxious gases from the smokestacks. The tragedy recalls a similar disaster in 1930 in which 70 people perished.
